Lewensruimte for the Deaf renders service of excellence to Deaf persons with multiple disabilities for the past 30 years. The Government only subsidises 18% of the expenses of Lewensruimte for the Deaf. However, Government has never contributed to Lewensruimte’s Community Service Plan and as yet Lewensruimte is relying on funding from overseas to continue with the community services programme. Therefore additional funding is needed.
