Lewensruimte (living space) for the Deaf, established in 1978, is situated at the National Institute for the Deaf in Worcester, South Africa. Lewensruimte for the Deaf is a therapeutic community in a mini-village setting which renders services and training at local, national and international levels to develop the full potential of Deaf persons with special needs.
Development and care of Deaf adults with multiple disabilities in order to unlock their full potential.
Our Mission for Lewensruimte for the Deaf is to:
- Create a therapeutic, caring community for adult multiple disabled Deaf persons in South Africa.
- Offer sustainable care, development and training programmes to our clients in our workshops, residential care homes and within the Deaf community.
