RESEARCH

DeafNET Centre of Knowledge employs a full-time Researcher. The function of the Researcher is to ensure that all information distributed by DeafNET is scientifically sound and of an international standard.

Research is done in all areas pertaining to hearing loss, including Deaf-born (culturally Deaf people), and deafness later in life. Communication methods, assistive devices, human rights issues, and HIV/Aids are amongst the research foci of DeafNET.

In collaboration with Deafblind South Africa, the DeafNET Researcher is assisting with research on Deafblind statistics in the province of Mpumalanga.
