INTRODUCTION PE & A

Educating all parties of society on hearing loss is the goal set before the Public Education & Awareness team. The team of presenters, including people with hearing loss, offer information on (amongst others) the following:

• The background on disability in SA
• The impact of being deaf or hearing impaired
• Reasonable accommodation
• Assistive devices
• Hearing protection
• Access assessments
• Support structures

The sessions, in collaboration with the National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities (NCPPDSA) have already been presented to audiences such as medical personnel, church goers, schools, correctional officers, police officials and the likes.
