ACCESS ASSESSMENTS
With understanding of hearing loss and the needs of the people who have hearing loss, organisations can ask for access assessments of their buildings or offices. Buildings are evaluated according to aspects such as:
1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
2. ACCESS TO INFORMATION/COMM
3. ENTRANCE
4. RECEPTION
5. BEDROOMS
6. TOILETS/BATHROOMS
7. LIFTS
8. PUBLIC AREAS
9. CONFERENCE FACILITIES
10.HEARING PROTECTION
The personnel that do the evaluation will advise the organisation what changes can be made to the building to make it more accessible and after a formal report has been made, guidance will be given towards possible contacts of specialists or suppliers that may be needed.
The personnel responsible for the assessments will guide the organisation throughout the process.
