Multi- Cultural Visual Worship Services Our Worship services are aimed at Deaf and Hard of Hearing people from all walks of life. Our services are multi-cultural and multi – lingual. The sermon is normally done in Sign – supported Afrikaans, Translated into English Sign Language, and televised to special T.V. screens for the Visually Impaired Deaf congregants.
Our Communication is Visual. We try to make the Gospel of Jesus Christ Visual by Drama, Powerpoint, Object lessons, Deaf Singing.
Camp Ministry The Deaf likes to camp. We host camps for Men, camps for Young Adults, Students of DCSA, Confessional Classses, Church Board and for the whole Congregation.
Youth ministry to Two Deaf Schools: New Hope School
De La Bat School
There are two Deaf schools in Worcester. We minister to both, with a youth worker serving the approx. 400 deaf children of New Hope Centre, and our pastor serving the approx 170 children of De la Bat School.
Student ministry: Deaf College South Africa Every year we are blessed by the opportunity to minister to the students of NID College on the campus. Wonderful witnesses can be given about students from all over South Africa coming here to study, and meeting the Lord Jesus Christ here on Campus.
Deaf Christian Ministry Africa – Mentorship/ Training opportunities
Our Congregation is the training ground for the ministry students of Deaf Christian Ministry Africa. We also take responseability for the spiritual care and mentoring of these young pastors.
Lewensruimte vir Dowes As you have read elsewhere on the NID webpage, Lewensruimte (“Space for Living”) is an mini – village for multiple – diabled Deaf. We have to minister to the Deaf in such a way that the diabled of Lewensruimte can fully comprehend.
Deaf Elderly People We have a ministry to the Aged. Ria Burger and her team hosts Social Functions, etc. for the Aged of Shalom and Deaf older Townsfolk.
